Privacy policy
This privacy policy explains how Dean Wyns CommV processes personal data when you visit wyns.dev, contact us or work with us. We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and the Belgian Act of 30 July 2018 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data.
1. Data controller
Dean Wyns CommV, Bonifantenstraat 2/24, 9000 Ghent, Belgium. Company number BE 0761.414.069, RPR Ghent. Email: info@wyns.dev. We have not appointed a data protection officer, as this is not required for our activities.
2. What data we process, why, and for how long
Contact requests. When you use the contact form or email us, we process your name, email address, company name (if provided) and the content of your message, to answer your request and to take steps before a possible agreement. Legal basis: steps prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We keep this data for up to 12 months after our last contact, unless it leads to an agreement.
Clients. For clients, we process contact details, billing details and correspondence needed to perform the agreement and to invoice. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and compliance with legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR). Invoices and accounting records are kept for 10 years, as required by Belgian accounting and tax legislation; other project correspondence for up to 5 years after the end of the agreement.
Website visits. When you visit this website, our hosting provider automatically processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request, in server logs. This is necessary to deliver the website and keep it secure. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log data is kept for a short period, normally no longer than 30 days, unless needed to investigate a security incident.
3. Are you required to provide data?
No. Providing personal data is not a legal obligation. However, without your name and email address we cannot respond to your request, and without client details we cannot enter into or perform an agreement.
4. Cookies and third-party content
This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and does not load fonts, scripts or other content from third parties: all fonts are hosted on our own server. Only strictly necessary technical cookies may be set by our hosting provider for security purposes; these are exempt from consent under Belgian electronic communications law. A cookie banner is therefore not required.
5. Who receives your data
We never sell or rent personal data. We only share it with:
- our web hosting provider, which hosts the website and processes server logs on our behalf;
- our email provider, which stores email correspondence on our behalf;
- our accountant, for bookkeeping and tax filings;
- public authorities, where we are legally required to do so.
Service providers that process data on our behalf act as processors under a data processing agreement in line with Article 28 GDPR.
6. Transfers outside the EEA
Some of our service providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. In that case, we only transfer data where an adequacy decision of the European Commission applies (such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework for certified US companies) or where appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (Article 46 GDPR). You can request a copy of these safeguards via info@wyns.dev.
7. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access control and keeping systems up to date.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased;
- restrict the processing of your data;
- object to processing based on our legitimate interest;
- receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format (data portability);
- withdraw your consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
Send your request to info@wyns.dev. We will respond within one month. We may ask you to verify your identity.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, www.gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.
9. Automated decision-making
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
